As notified by the State Government, Paryavaran Mahotsav will be celebrated from 15th June to 30th June, 2014 in the entire State.
To commemorate the event, various activities as under will be carried throughout the State ;
- Massive plantation drives (State Green Mission, Ten Minutes to Earth on 25th June)
- Massive cleanliness drives at major towns
- Greenathon (Run for Green and Clean Sikkim) at each district
- Signature campaign
- Eco-competitions at schools (Painting, Debate, Quiz)
- Release of Go-Green stickers and garbage bags for vehicles
- Awareness campaigns (Public meetings, rally, banner campaign etc)
- Wide Publicity (AV show, interviews, print media etc)
Concerned DFO(T) and DFO(Env.&SC) under the Department of Forest, Environment & Wildlife Management will coordinate the above activities. To facilitate the event, support of all employees of the respective departments is solicited as in the last year to make the event a grand success.
