As notified by the State Government, Paryavaran Mahotsav will be celebrated from 15^th June to 30^th June, 2014 in the entire State.

To commemorate the event, various activities as under will be carried throughout the State ;

• Massive plantation drives (State Green Mission, Ten Minutes to Earth on 25th June)
• Massive cleanliness drives at major towns
• Greenathon (Run for Green and Clean Sikkim) at each district
• Signature campaign
• Eco-competitions at schools (Painting, Debate, Quiz)
• Release of Go-Green stickers and garbage bags for vehicles
• Awareness campaigns (Public meetings, rally, banner campaign etc)
• Wide Publicity (AV show, interviews, print media etc)

Concerned DFO(T) and DFO(Env.&SC) under the Department of  Forest, Environment & Wildlife Management will coordinate the above activities. To facilitate the event, support of all employees of the respective departments is solicited as in the last year to make the event a grand success.
