Status of Environment and Related Issues

Sikkim ENVIS-EIACP Hub at Forest and Environment Department, Government of Sikkim in collaboration with ENVIS RP at C.P.R. Environment Education Centre (CPREEC), Chennai is organizing a Seminar on ‘Ecological Traditions of Sikkim’ on Monday the 27th of February 2023, Time 10 AM to 4 PM, at Forest Conference Hall, Deorali, Gangtok.

The main focus of the seminar will be the ecological traditions and practices followed in the State of Sikkim like traditional water harvesting systems, conservation of sacred groves, tree and nature worship, agroforestry, traditional healing practices, indigenous traditional knowledge and so on. In this regard, subject speakers in diverse sectors have been invited to present on Ecological Traditions of Sikkim.

As the seminar focusses to sensitize students, youths, research scholars and faculties, five (5) students and one (1) faculty each of Colleges and Universities in and around Gangtok have been invited to participate in the above said programme.
