National Science Day is celebrated all over India on 28th February, every year, in order to commemorate the discovery of ‘Raman Effect’ by the Indian Physicist, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on the same day in the year 1928. He was awarded Nobel Prize in 1930 for this remarkable discovery and became the first Indian to win Nobel Prize in the field of Science.

 

National Science Day is celebrated to spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people. To display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. It is celebrated to discuss all the issues and implement new technologies for the development in the field of science. To give an opportunity to the scientific minded citizens in India. To encourage the people as well as popularize science and technology.

 

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh launched the theme of National Science Day (NSD) 2022 ‘Integrated Approach in S&T for Sustainable Future’.
