The Government of Sikkim in 2019 had launched a new green initiative of dedicating “A Day for Mother Earth” on 7th of July every year. Likewise, this year also, the State Government will be celebrating the day with great zest and fervour taking up environment friendly activities across the State. The day is also coinciding with the closing day of Van Mahotsav Week i.e. 1st July to 7th July. The state level event is being organised by Forest and Environment Department at Dentam, West Sikkim on July 7, 2021. The event will be graced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang as the chief guest.
