The World Population Day is celebrated annually on 11th July, under the leadership of the United Nations. World Population Day, which seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, was established by the then-Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989, an outgrowth of the interest generated by the Day of Five Billion, which was observed on 11 July 1987.

This Day aims to emphasise the urgency and importance of managing Population and to combat Population related concerns across the Globe.

The World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated annually on 28th July. This Day is celebrated to raise awareness about the protection and development of the natural resources, which are facing rampant deterioration due to anthropogenic activities. This day conveys the message that we all should protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources that the Earth is bestowed with.

Some simple practices that can make your lifestyle green if followed in daily life are –

» Help in conservation activities in your area / surrounding natural areas.

» Participate in the environment awareness activities.
