International Day of the World’s Indigenous People

The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is observed on 9th August each year, as this was the date of the first meeting in 1982 of the United Nations Working Group of Indigenous Populations.

The theme for this year is “10th Anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples”.
