International Mountain Day 2016

The United Nations General Assembly designated 11th December as an International Mountain Day. This day is celebrated annually and aims to draw attention to the important roles that mountainous regions play in water and food supply.

This year’s theme is “Mountain Cultures: celebrating diversity and strengthening identity.”
