Sikkim state observed the World Wetlands Day on February 2, 2023 with the UNEP designated theme "Its time for wetlands restoration". The day was observed with sensitization and clean up drives at Gangtok and Namchi Districts by Environment & Soil Conservation divisions of Forest and Environment Department along with active participation of local stakeholders such as Tsomgo Pokhari Sangrakshan Samiti, students of Horticulture College Bermiok, local youths and volunteers.
