The Eco-Club from Sir Tashi Namgyal Government Secondary School, Gangtok was conferred with WIPRO Earthian Award 2022 at Bengaluru on February 11, 2023 by WIPRO Foundation. The school eco-club had conducted a Water & Sustainability Project facilitated by Sikkim ENVIS Hub, Sikkim State Nodal Agency, Forest and Environment Department supported by MoEF&CC during Jul-Nov 2022. The activity featured amongst top 20 amongst 1200+ entries across the country. The award includes prize money of Rs 50,000. The event was participated by Rajen Pradhan, Sr. Programme Officer, Binod Pokhrel, PGT (Biology) and five students Dorjee Namgyal Bhutia, Tenzing Dadul Bhutia, Kavya Agarwal, Deepak Sharma and Deo Ashish Subba.
