A virtual interactive meet of school eco-clubs of Delhi and Sikkim State was organized on May 18, 2021 [4-5pm] as a part of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Programme for sharing local knowledge, culture, tradition and best environmental practices. The event was jointly organized by Sikkim ENVIS Hub, WWF ENVIS RP Delhi and SPA ENVIS RP Delhi of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The event was also hosted live in YouTube platform and was actively participated and witnessed by about 1000 teachers and students of Delhi and Sikkim State.

 

Mr Raunak Raj class X student of Vidya Niketan School, Delhi and Ms Kezia Chettri class X student from Government SSS Singtam made beautifully power point presentation about Delhi and Sikkim respectively.  Green teacher from Vidya Niketan School, Delhi Mrs Menakshi Sharma and Green teacher Government SSS Makha Mr Lomas Dhungel and also made a short deliberations about their Eco club activities.

 

Dr. Mehebub Sahana from WWF ENVIS RP, Delhi also made a short presentation on Earth system science and geographical diversity of Delhi and Sikkim. Ms. Meenakshi Dhote, Coordinator of SPA ENVIS RP, Delhi and Shri Rajen Pradhan from Sikkim ENVIS Hub also made short deliberations in an event moderated by Ms Harsimran Kaur of SPA ENVIS RP. The event also witnessed slideshow of posters prepared by Sikkim and Delhi students. The event aimed at providing platform to two diverse states of the country for familiarizing the local traditions and cultures and propagate the concept of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
