Sikkim State ENVIS at Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim in collaboration with earthian WIPRO, Bengaluru felicitated twelve school eco-clubs of the State for their meritorious performance in the WIPRO’s Earthian Schools Programme 2017. The school eco-clubs were handed ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ and cash incentive of Rs 2500/- each in the event held at Gangtok for North and East District schools and at Namchi for South and West District schools on February 26th and February 28th 2018 respectively.
Appreciating the hard work put in by the school eco-club students, teachers and non-teaching staff, the Principal Secretary cum PCCF Dr Thomas Chandy at Gangtok presented certificates to Govt. SSS Dikchu, Govt. SS Linkey and Govt. SSS Dikling from East District; and Govt. JHS Phamtam, Govt. SS Passingdong and Govt. SSS, Phodong from North District. The programme was also attended by Mr Ashish Shah, Earthian WIPRO Associate, Mr. B B Gurung, Additional Director of Forests and other senior officers of the Forest Department.
The certificates and cash incentives for South and West District schools was presented by Divisional Forest Officer, Environment & Soil Conservation division (South) Mr Palzor Ongda Bhutia at Namchi DAC auditorium to Govt. SSS Namchi, Govt. SS Chuba and Govt. SSS Kewzing from South District; and Govt. SSS Pelling, Govt. SSS Ribdi and Govt. SS Tikpur from West District.
