Heritage Trees Sikkim State Heritage Trees

 

 

Recognizing the silvicultural importance and ecosystem values of the historically significant trees found all over the State that are intimately linked with the evolution of human settlements and agrarian lifestyles of the people of Sikkim, the State Government vide Notification No. 83/GoS/FEWMD/Pr.Secy-PCCF dated 04/06/2016 and Notification No. 269/GoS/FEWMD/Pr.Secy-PCCF dated 08/11/2016 has notified 21 trees of girth class 25 ft and above and 32 trees of girth class 20 ft to 25 ft respectively under forest land as “Heritage Trees” of the state.
