Sikkim EIACP/ ENVIS Hub of Forest and Environment Department conducted Mission LiFE Yatra to promote and propagate lifestyle for environment amongst citizens with the help of about 20 volunteers from All Sikkim Forestry Graduate Association (ASFGA). The campaign was conducted from 24th to 30th of November 2023 at various towns and villages of three districts namely Gangtok, Soreng and Gyalshing Districts.
Activities included Plogger Runs, Greenathon - Green Run Challenge, Clean up drives, Sustainable Lifestyle Workshop and Exhibition on Zero Waste Initiatives, Mission LiFE rallies by students, Eco friendly lifestyle pledges, outreach activities among various stakeholders, Door-to-Door sensitization on curbing Single Use Plastics and opting for eco-friendly alternatives, and Public Awareness drives at major town areas using nukkad nataks, jingles, poster and sticker distribution.
More than 2000 people participated and were connected in the Mission LiFE Yatra in these three districts of the Sikkim state. Many local people and tourist shared their positive feedback and motivated the Yatra team.
