National Pollution Control Day Republic Day

26th January is celebrated as the Republic Day of India. It was the day the Constitution of India, prepared by drafting committee headed by BR Ambedkar, came into force. The Constitution was formed taking into consideration the ethnic communities, multiple religions and regional tribes, thus, completing the journey of becoming a sovereign democratic republic. To celebrate this day a series of events are organized in Delhi, the National Capital. The events include lighting of Government buildings in the National Capital Region, a grand parade from Rashtrapati Bhawan to India Gate involving all the three wings of the armed forces, and performances by tribal and folk groups representing the state they belong to, among others. »  Read More

The cleanliness of a city, village or an entire town begins from the cleanliness of individual homes. This responsibility for environmental cleanliness is highlighted by the observation of National Cleanliness Day on 30th January in India. The day calls to maintain high standards of cleanliness in our home, work place, roads/streets and public places. Activities for the celebration of this day can be categorized under three (3) heads, namely (a) activities at family level (b) activities at Mohalla level, and (c) activities at village or community level.
