Abstract: Ward’s Trogon Harpactes wardi is considered Near Threatened under the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (BirdLife International 2019a). It breeds in the Himalayas from Bhutan westwards through Arunachal Pradesh, northern and eastern Myanmar to southern China and northern Vietnam (Collar 2019). The species is frequently reported from Arunachal Pradesh (Rahmani 2012). However, it is very rare in Sikkim and there have not been any historical specimens, or recent photographs from the region (Ali 1962; Acharya & Vijayan 2010; Rahut 2013).
