World Environment Day 2017 with the UNEP theme “Connecting People to Nature” was celebrated in grandeur throughout the State of Sikkim on Monday the 5th of June hugely participated by students and teachers,  panchayats, municipalities, NGOs, JFMCs, EDCs, urban and local bodies, private companies, political dignitaries and public at large. While the entire State was engrossed with the Mother Nature taking up plantation, weeding, cleanliness drives and other environment wellbeing actions for spreading awareness highly maintaining the consciousness stature of the State, official functions were organised at the State-level and District-level by the State Forests, Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim. The events witnessed awards and felicitation, plantation drives, cleanliness drives, eco-competitions on essay writing, painting, slogan, debates, skits suitably highlighting the natural and cultural significance and diversity this small State offers.  » See Detail Report
