The Government of Sikkim has constituted the most prestigious and the highest state-level award scheme -  The Chief Minister's Green School Rolling Trophy -cum- Green School State Awards. The award scheme will acknowledge the efforts of the top five meritorious green schools of the state with cash prizes upto rupees five lakh.The award scheme was launched during the World Environment Day celebration on June 5, 2011 at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok by the Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling.
