World Heritage Volunteer 2023

poster1Within the framework of the World Heritage Education Programme at the UNESCO world Heritage Centre, the World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) Initiative was launched in 2008 in collaboration with the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) to mobilise and involve young people and youth organisations in World Heritage preservation and promotion. Today, the Initiative is coordinated by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in cooperation with Better World.

 

After fifteen years of grassroots youth activities and International cooperation, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO world Heritage Convention, the WHV meet the challenge of ‘The Next 50’ years to involve young people, committees and site managers in building together new, inclusive societies where World Heritage is a source of resilience, humanity and innovation, beyond the constraints of geography and cultures.

 

In this regard, the project titled “Securing the future of Khangchendzonga National Park” submitted by Khangchendzonga National Park Management has been selected to be a part of the World Heritage Volunteer (WHV) 2023 Campaign-Working on the future.

 

The volunteer campaign will commence will 17th April-26th April 2023.
