Constitution Day observed by Forest Department across the State in coordination with School and College Eco-Clubs

Sikkim ENVIS Hub of Forest Department facilitated the celebration of Constitution Day on November 26 in coordination with 856 eco-clubs at schools and colleges across the State. The Preamble to the Constitution of India was read out at forest secretariat premise administered by CCF Shri D. C Nepal, district forest offices, schools and colleges to promote constitutional values among citizens. Clean up drives of respective office and institutional premises were conducted by officers and staff, teachers and students. Taxi Driver Associations of major towns such as Jorethang, Geyzing, Mangan and Gangtok also conducted clean up drive and sensitization drive at the respective premises. Waste bins, gloves, face masks, hand sanitizers were distributed to safai karmacharis. The programme was conducted as a part of Swachhata Action Plan 2020-21 funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
