Riverfront Cleanup Programme Held

Sikkim ENVIS Hub at Forest, Environment & Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim with the support from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India coordinated the 16 days riverfront cleanup drive at river Rani Chu and its tributaries in and around Gangtok as a part of World Environment Day 2018 on the theme 'Beat Plastic Pollution'. The cleanup drive was actively participated by 17 school eco-clubs, Gangtok Municipal Corporation, State Pollution Control Board, CISF, ITBP, Sikkim University, ICFAI University and local people. The event was coordinated with the support from DFO (E&SC), DFO (RVP), DFO (SF) and DFO (T) from East division.
