ENVIS Centre at Forest Environment & Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim in collaboration with WIPRO Bengaluru conducted green teacher’s training programme for schools across of the State on 29th July 2017 at Namchi DAC for South and West district schools and on 31st July 2017 at Forest Conference Hall, Gangtok for North and East district schools.
Sponsored by the Bengaluru based IT giant WIPRO as a part of sustainable environment initiative, the earthian schools orientation programme was participated by 93 schools across the State as an action based eco-club activity for the 2017 session. WIPRO associate Mr Ashish Shah, the resource person for the training programme highlighted the earthian schools programme focusing on water and biodiversity sustainability at the school level as an ongoing effort to prepare younger generation to understand current environmental challenges and build knowledge and skills through action oriented projects. The training programme was organised as a part of National Green Corps School Eco-Club programme.
