Junior Research Fellows and Project Assistant
Applications are invited for the post of two Junior Research Fellows (one in Entomology and other in Plant
Pathology) and one Project Assistant positions purely on temporary basis in the NMPB, Govt of India funded
research project on ‘Development of Integrated Pest and Disease Management Practices for the Cultivating
Medicinal Plants in Karnataka’ for a period of three years and co-terminus with the project period.
1. Qualification for Junior Research Fellow (Entomology): 1st Class M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Science with
Entomology as one of the subjects or M.Sc. in Agricultural Entomology and passing of NET or GATE test.
2. Qualification for Junior Research Fellow (Pathology): 1st Class M.Sc. in Plant Pathology/Microbiology or in
Botany with Plant Pathology as one of the subjects or M.Sc. in Plant Pathology and passing of NET or GATE
test.
3. Qualification for Project Assistant: Essential: Master degree in Zoology. Desirable: Minimum three years
of experience in mounting and preservation of insects.
For the positions of JRF, the age limit is 28 years with relaxation as per GoI rules. Monthly stipend payable to
JRF with NET/GATE qualification is Rs 25,000 + 30% HRA. JRF without NET qualification will be paid stipend of
Rs 12,000 + 30% HRA. The emoluments for the Project Assistant is Rs 16,000 per month (Consolidated).
