Four Sikkim State Government Eco-Club Schools have bagged National Awards for effective environment awareness and action oriented projects implemented during the year 2015 under the coordination of ENVIS Centre, Forests, Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim.
1. Government Sr. Secondary School, Hee-Yangthang, West Sikkim wins Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar 2015
Date: 11th January, 2016
Government Senior Secondary School, Hee- Yangthang from West Sikkim has been awarded the prestigious Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar 2015 in an Exemplar School category.
Parayavaran Mitra Puraskar is a national award given by Centre for Environment Education, Ahemdabad every year under the sustainable environment initiatives/ programmes to the two best performing schools in the country.
Two best schools are selected for the award every year and Hee- Yangthang SSS was chosen this year as an awardee from amongst the numerous schools of the country. The award function was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and the Governor of Gujarat handed over the award to the awardee schools on the 11th of January 2016.
Hee-Yangthang Sr. Secondary School has also been awarded State Green Schools Award 2015 during the State-level World Environment Day celebrations on 5th June 2015 at Gangtok, Sikkim.

2. Government Secondary School, Bongten, West Sikkim wins WIPRO's Earthian Award 2015 and TN KHOSHOO EARTHIAN TROPHY 2015

Government Secondary School, Bongten, West Sikkim has been awarded with two National Awards on Sustainability and Biodiversity by WIPRO at Bangalore on 6th of February, 2016.
1. Earthian Award 2015 with cash prize of rupeees One Lakh.
2. TN KHOSHOO EARTHIAN TROPHY 2015
TN KHOSHOO EARTHIAN TROPHY recognises only one School among the short listed earthian winning schools for catalyzing and enabling environmental thought and action among students.It recognises one school for higher degree of feasibility, practical implementation, ability and contaxtual understanding. This award is in memory of Dr. Triloknath Khoshoo, India's first Secretary of Department of Environment.

WIPRO's earthian schools programme was introduced to 50 schools of the Sikkim State during the teacher's orientation programme in August 2015. 19 schools had successfully completed the programme for 2015 whose reports were sent as nominations for the National awards.
Besides this winning school, three other schools from the state have also been shorlisted amongst top 40 schools of the country.

- Government Scondary School, Middle Camp, East Sikkim
- St. Xavier's School, Pakyong, East Sikkim
These schools will be given special letter of appreciation, certificates, earthian giveaways from WIPRO, Bangalore.

3. Sonam Choda Lepcha Memorial Government Secondary School, Lingdong, North Sikkim adjuged as India's Top 5 performers in Gobar Times Green Schools Award 2015
Date of Awards Ceremony: 23rd February, 2016 | New Delhi
Sonam Choda Lepcha Memorial Government Secondary School, Lingdong, North Sikkim has been selected as the TOP 5 performers of the GSP (Green Schools Programme) Audit 2015 by the Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi.
The awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
CSE's Green Schools Audit programme 2015 was introduced to 200 schools of the Sikkim State during the teacher's training programme held in August 2015 at Gangtok. 149 schools from Sikkim had registered for the online audit programme out of which 64 schools completed successfully.
4. Government Jr. High School, Mangzing, South Sikkim adjuged as India's Top 10 performers in Gobar Times Green Schools Award 2015
Date of Awards Ceremony: 23rd February, 2016 | New Delhi
Another school from Sikkim namely Government Jr. High School, Mangzing, South Sikkim has been selected as the TOP 10 performers of the GSP (Green Schools Programme) Audit 2015 by the Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi.
Mangzing School's Principal, Green Teacher and four eco-club students have also been invited to New Delhi to receive the award.
