Wetlands Day 2016 celebrated in West Sikkim

Enviornment & Soil Conservation, West Division of Forest Environment & Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim organised an awareness programme for students and local people on the ocassion of World Wetlands Day on 2nd of February, 2016 at Yuksam near to Karthok lake.

Activities such as drawing and painting competition, environment lectures, motivational talks, interaction with studenst and local people, cleanliness drive etc. were conducted on the theme "Wetlands for our Future: Sustainable Livelihoods"  through active partcipation of teachers and students of Life Vision Academy, EDC and JFMC members, Panchayats, Khangchendzonga Conservation Committee (KCC) members, forest officers and staffs of West Territorial range and KNP Yuksam.
