Draft Notifications on Eco-Sensitive Zones in Sikkim

 

GoIDraft Notifications on Eco-Sensitive Zones in Sikkim

In exercise of the poweres conferred by Sub-section (1), Clause (v) and Clause (xiv) of Sub-section (2) and Sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Environment Protection Act (EPA) 1986 (29 of 1986) read with Sub-rule (3) of Rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rule (EPR) 1986, the Central Government in consultation with Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) through Notification proposes to declare Eco-Sensitives zones in Sikkim. The draft of the notification is published for the information of the public likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said Draft Notification shall be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of a period of 60 days from the date on which copies of the Gazette of India containing this Notification are made available to the Public.

The Central Government proposes to notify an area up to 50 meters (m) from the boundary of the Fambonglho Wildlife Sanctuary, Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary and Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary in the State of Sikkim as the Eco-sensitive Zone. For details, click the link below.
