MESSAGE OF HON'BLE CHIEF MINISTER, SIKKIM
State Green Mission is a mission of the masses that will attain success only if there is total and dedicated support from the common people. It is a people oriented program that seeks to benefit the masses. As we all know, our State, Sikkim is gifted with richness of biodiversity and natural resources there is a need to understand the value of this wealth and conserve it for our future generation. The programme is mutually benefiting and it would be a matter of great pride for all Sikkimese if we are listed in the world map as the Greenest State and serve as a role model for others.
As stressed earlier the program depends for its success on the participation of the public and an honest and genuine interest to achieve the goals of the mission.  There is no better fencing than social fencing which can be successfully achieved if individuals realize that a little effort on their part will make a whole world of difference.
Let us all join hands to make this programme a success and engage in collective action to achieve our goal of developing Sikkim as the ultimate ecotourism destination not only in India but the world over. The benefits that will accrue from this program are several and cannot be quantified. It will definitely improve the environment and make the people aware of the richness of our biodiversity and generate consciousness towards a 'Green Sikkim'.
I congratulate my all fellow citizens on this auspicious occasion of launching of 8th phase of State Green Mission at this holy place.
